There are a few things you can do to manage your toothache before you visit your dentist for a full checkup. Some of these steps can give you temporary relief.
- Rinse your mouth with warm water and a pinch of salt
- Floss your teeth and remove any particles of food from the gaps
- Take a painkiller if the pain is persistent

Toothaches are usually the result of some damage to the tooth. Sometimes the infection is not visible from the outside, but internally the root of your tooth maybe infected and in need of medical attention.
It is advised to see your dentist at the start of the pain so the problem can be diagnosed and treated at the earliest.
