Tooth Knocked Out
A tooth can get knocked out due to several reasons such as a fall, sports accident, biting a hard food item or an automobile accident.
If a tooth gets knocked out, find the tooth and take it with you when you visit your dentist. There is a good chance your dentist can reimplant the tooth using natural looking tooth restoration materials. It is important to keep the tooth moist to preserve it properly. Placing the tooth in a cup of milk helps preserve it until your dentist's visit.
DO NOT use any soap or chemicals to wash the tooth. DO NOT scrub the tooth dry with a cloth or tissue.
Precautions to avoid getting a tooth knocked out
- If you're an active sports person then you can wear a sports mouthguard made specifically for you
