Porcelain Veneers

A dental Porcelain Veneer is a thin tooth-colored shell made of porcelain or composite. These porcelain veneers are custom made to bond to the front surface of your teeth. They are generally used to fix dental issues such as uneven teeth or spaces between teeth, chipped or cracked teeth, discolored teeth and broken teeth.

Porcelain Veneers can alter and improve the appearance and shape of your teeth, especially your front teeth. They are a perfect solution for improving the color, shape, length and size of your teeth and giving you a perfect smile.

Veneers are durable and can be made to specific shades of color to match your teeth. When done properly, a porcelain veneer can look just like your natural teeth. Porcelain Veneers don't just serve as a cosmetic solution but in some cases may also provide a protective cover to the tooth and avoid any other dental treatment.

Frequently asked questions about Porcelain Veneers:

  • Do I need to take any special care of my porcelain veneers?
  • Your Veneers are durable and will usually last for several years. You will have to visit your dental hygienist for a regular cleaning to maintain oral hygiene and the longevity of your veneers. You can continue to brush and floss your teeth as you normally would.

  • Are there any types of food I should avoid once I have had my veneers fixed?
  • None. You can maintain your normal diet. You will however have to be careful to not bite on hard food items such as bones. This could damage your veneers.

  • Will the procedure of getting my veneer hurt?
  • Generally, our patients don't report any pain while getting their veneers fixed. Your dentist will use a mild local anesthetic or sedation to help you get through the process with minimum discomfort.
